SheSails Sailing Course 

Please join us for an introductory sailing course for Women & Girls (12+) . Sponsored by Australia Sailing She Sails Programme & Cowes Yacht Club. The course content will be tailored to the experience and competence of each participant. Course is based on Start Sailing & Better Sailing programmes.

Course with be run over 2 X 7.5 hr sessions: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

• 15 hrs with qualified Australian Sailing instructors.

Enrollments

Registration is only possible after you have obtained an AS (Australian Sailing) number, which can be completed during the registration process. Registration must be made under the name of the participant. Please use the "Sign up" button if you do not have a current Australia Sailing number. 

Payment is required at the time of registration.

The number of places available is limited, so enrollments will be accepted on a first-in basis in the order completed, until the squad limit is reached. This rule applies to all applications, including Club members, and in the interests of fairness to all will be strictly enforced.

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate. 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
